An extension of the kwadernongbusabos@blogspot.com, tulangbusabos (poems of a child) is a compilation of poems I wrote since 2006. Most were written during summer and semestral breaks and non-busy days at the University of the Philippines Los Banos.

Tao
June 1, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
Nillalang na sadyang mahiwaga
Ikaw nga ang gumagawa ng iyong tadhana
Anu nga ba ang iyong saysay…
Sa mundong likas ng makulay?
Diyos ang lumikha sa’yo
Obrang kung tawagin ay tao
Buhay ay sadyang matarik
Daana’y talaga namang maputik
Marami kang puwedeng tahakin
Bagay na maaaring angkinin
Ngunit ito ba ang solusyon…
Sa tanong na iyong sinusuong?
Tumingin ka lamang sa taas
At tiyak kang maliligtas
Ang Diyos na lumikha sa’yo
Ang tanging dahilan ng buhay mo!
Kaibigan
June 1, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
Nang ika’y makita
Di ko inakala
Pagsasama nati’y magtatagal
Tayo’y nagkahiwalay
Ngunit pagsasama’y di natanagay
‘pagkat kapit nati’y mahigpit
binuo ng pagsasamang sadyang malupit!

Night
26 May 2007 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
As the darkness ends the day
Loneliness fills in to the weary
The stars will shine above
Reminds us of how great is love
The sky holds a promise
Told to us who often reminisce
The morning welcomes us with a kiss
And bring love with it on bliss
As the night falls and ends the day
There’s a hope that the sun will rise at the same bay
As the dawn awaits pardon
The moon will shine for a reason

Period!
May 21, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
Period-a symbol that ends it all
All the pains and struggles
All the tears and challenges
All the love and care…
Roses have wilted
The wine have been spoiled
Many songs have been heard
Is this the time to bid the story’s end?
Our story was beautiful
But the pain it brought us was quite awful
I fought a fair fight
For you, I gave all my might
Still, I end up the looser
For the princess I fought for gave an austere
One which I regretted to hear
For it confirmed me of my greatest fear
The horns have sung long before
But I’m not prepared for my heart to sore
I don’t know if it will stay forevermore
` Can a period end it all?

Rainbow
May 14, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
The sun is risen
The storm had passed
And the sky is brightly lit
By colors that perfectly fit
The colors of ROYGBIV
Has now made me believe
On life’s hope and faith
Which truly have changed my fate
I got soaked on rains
The winds have made me sway
I was struck by a lightning
Still I roar like a thunder
But that was over for now
For I am on a stage and taking a vow
Because the lightning lit my stage
And my audience, blown in the wind and cried in the rain
Storm
May 14, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
Roofs have been blown
Homes have moaned
Trees already fell
And now the church cried the bell
Father is soaked
While mother’s with me on a cloak
I can feel our house swaying
To the strong winds that seem to have no ending
Still I sit here with ‘ma on the cloak
And ‘pa still standing like an old oak
Waiting for the storm to settle
And mend our home that was broken

Apart
May 5, 2006 / San Jose Occidental Mindoro
Lily’s have long been bloomed
Birds have flown unto the moon
Clouds have poured rain on tombs
But to see you is like waiting for doom
The lines have been rehearsed
The acts have long been practiced
But the songs have already faded
And the fear of your absence keeps me stranded
Wondering where can I see my daisy?
Whose fragrance have made me crazy
What odds should I have to face
in order for me to see your face?
Oh you know I love you my daisy
I’ll be standing here today,
And until that day when
The lilies forgot to bloom
Until the birds have fallen from the moon
Until the clouds have drained and dried the tombs
HOLD ON!
